4-week format this class will meet September 12, 19, 26 and October 3, 2021 on Sundays from 8am-5:30pm taught by senior instructor, Kim James. This course is perfect for people who can dedicate a whole day to the live-taught class on a weekend and can complete up to 4 hours of flipped content between classes as well as 4 hours of pre-workshop modules before the course begins. Completion of this training meets the criteria for three requirements towards DONA International Certifications: (1) Birth Doula Workshop, (2) Introduction to Childbirth for Doulas and (3) Breastfeeding/Chest feeding for Doulas. Our trainings have been filling up quickly and will have to close registration once we have hit capacity. Registration will close entirely on September 6th. We do offer a Course Assistant position to provide technical support for the Zoom virtual classroom, and in exchange the Course Assistant would receive discounted tuition. Full tuition is $725. In-person, five-day core program to begin practice in evidence-based breastfeeding and lactation care for anyone who works with new mothers and their newborns; or as the beginning process for becoming a lactation consultant (IBCLC). You’ll learn to provide accurate, current and consistent information about breastfeeding and lactation and to support new families in feeding their babies from birth through the process of weaning. See below the topics that will be discussed over a period of five days. Please note: Out of an abundance of caution for you and our staff and faculty, we will be strictly adhering to all CDC and University protocols during this 5 day training. When deciding to register please bear in mind there remains a possibility that you may be required to wear a face mask covering both mouth and nose throughout the entire course and maintain social distancing at breaks. Due to social distancing guidelines we will be at 50% capacity (which is subject to change) - register early to ensure your space. This virtual workshop will consist of the same DONA approved curriculum as the traditional 4 day intensive but offers a more spread out schedule for people who want more time to digest the material. Did you know that you (the general public) can take many of the University's regular academic courses, assuming extra seats are available and you have the required prerequisites?

You can either audit classes or take them for credit. These 11-week classes, usually held on weekdays, are available in the nutrition, culinary arts, exercise science, health psychology and herbal sciences programs.
